Kinesio (Myofascial) Taping
Fascia is an irregular connective tissue that forms a single connective web throughout the entire body. It is situated below the subcutaneous layer of the skin and the surface of muscular structures.
Within this connective tissue there are numerous blood vessels, lymph vessels and nerve endings which may be compressed by inflammation in the muscle tissue.
The application of the tape can provide a 'snap back' effect which can assist muscles and joints. It can serve to normalise the glide between the skin and the myofascia.
Decompression of inflamed tissue can help improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage, which in turn can reduce inflammation and aid repair.
Why not combine Kinesiotaping with a course of Bowen Technique sessions for long standing back problems or sports injuries.
